About Warren Cooke

I create artworks about the landscapes in which I live or have lived in the past. Some feelings from distant memories drive me to re-visit places where I grew up; to rediscover parts of my life.

I have a deep respect for nature; and a belief in it having a life force and power far greater than our own. Despite the human endeavours that denigrate the environment, nature continues to evolve and adapt and it will survive long after humans have gone.

My recent work narrates my current situation living on the Mornington Peninsula. Experiencing the natural environment is the main component of the work, and time, feelings, mindset, memory and moods influence the depiction of forms and colours.
