“One of my favourite places, Wilsons Prom or Yiruk/Warnoon… every time I visit here I explore the tracks either running or hiking through this landscape… this trail from the campgrounds out to Whisky bay and back is particularly stunning. I would have lost count how many times I have been on this track, but each time it leaves a mark in my memory, so when I was painting this scene, it not only brought back thoughts of the many shared experiences there, but also thoughts about who else may have walked there in the past (and who may walk there in the future)
Paths are created out of the necessity to link places, and no doubt for thousands of years this trail would have been walked, its this connection with the past and tradition through being in the landscape that I am currently interested in.” Neil Williams
