Description

‘Returning Home’
Louise Grant
67 cm diameter
fire damaged tin, lomandra, string, silk, copper wire, wine barrel ring.

Welcome Swallows, migrating from Victoria in the winter months to our warmer northern neighbours, I look forward to them returning and breeding.

Here I have tried to capture their return. The Swallows themselves are created from fire damaged tin which has been drilled, stitched with wire and then stitched with striped Lomandra, repurposed string, sari silk and copper wire. Frame – metal ring from old wine barrel
