‘Forest Breath V’
Jennifer Buntine
Monotype
67 x 58cm
The body of work ‘Forest Breath’, made of multi layered monotypes was created after experiencing a trip to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia in 2025.
A moment of life revealing itself, of mountains unfolding and being enveloped by the natural world. There was a deep and rich contentment captured in continual momentum. A purity of sound and colour encompassing sculptured mountain ranges, trees, water, rocks animals and birds. The ancient landscape was evocative of an inspiring offering with possibilities of a new narrative that does not arise from vision or knowledge. Time has slipped and what you thought you knew is no longer.
Joyfilled senses were imbued with ancient colour and the knowledge that I was a minute and temporary participant in this mammoth undertaking of the earth and all her magnificence.
Flinders Ranges appeared with a clarity and recognition that perhaps already existed within my memory and will remain always.
