‘Silvereyes’ 2024

“Silvereyes” is part of my ‘Bay Series’ of limited edition prints. Inspiration came from my experiences of languid days of watching and reflecting the rhythm of nature, the feeling of the bay breeze, the sense of touch, the memory of seeing silvereye birds perching on the bare branches of trees dotted along the cliff path that I walk down to my local beach. All these elements culminating into creating a print that conveys our human desire to seek a quiet place to reflect and reconnect with the natural world. Printed on 300gsm Somerset printmaking paper using oil-based relief inks. Ten colours, hand carved and hand printed using an etching press in my home studio in Mornington.
