On Dharawal Country, the madjam rise each evening in a black cloud that stitches sky to earth. The presence of the Grey headed Flying Fox is constant; they were here long before us, a living thread of kinship and care. Continuum centres a timber window. The window is a threshold, holding the tension of two worlds: the domestic interior and the restless life of Country outside. It is a site of reflection, a blurred line reminding us that ecological survival and human comfort are never separate. Woven from paper through matrilineal techniques passed down for generations, the madjam hang in quiet suspension. Paper carries both fragility and record; it holds the trace of memory and the risk of loss. The work reflects endurance at the edge of urban life: kin close to the window, stories pressed against the house, a cycle that continues whether seen or not.
