Rising, embodies the theme Walking + Knowing by emphasising the understanding of landscapes through deep immersion and observation. This piece explores the stable yet transient qualities of nature, focusing on the rise and fall of the ocean and the shifting shorelines influenced by climate change.
Inspired by my experiences walking along the coastlines of South Gippsland Victoria, Rising captures the fluidity and movement of the ocean and its impact on both the external environment and personal introspection. The colours and shapes evoke dynamic flows, illustrating the interconnectedness of external landscapes and internal experiences.
Through this work, I aim to highlight the beauty and stability of natural environments, while also reflecting on the memories they hold and the profound effects of climate change.
