While simple in subject matter this painting depicts a special beach on Westernport Bay at Point Leo that I have camped at overlooking for over 30 years. This beach has seen and made many changes to the impacts over the years of weather patterns, seasons, animal, birds and human activity. Painting there on a late summers day this year. I wanted to capture this pair of Acaia as the have grown impressively with the early summer rain, but in a complete juxtaposition as their survival can be quickly over. The painting too has an urgency, capturing the strong blue of the bay while that sun delivers that particular light.
