Sophie graduated with a Masters of Painting from The Royal College of Art London 2003.

Since moving to Melbourne in 2005 and now living on the Mornington Peninsula, she has continued her painting practice whilst raising a family.

Working with her favourite subject of the natural landscape and enjoying the physicality of paint, colour and suggestion of narrative.

The landscapes are places that have been visited often and allude to a presence or evoke a memory without including any figures.

The Australian landscapes and coastlines are a growing and evolving subject, challenging the artists own perception of colour and composition, working in a country so different from her own.
