About Lauren Guymer

Lauren Guymer is an Australian visual artist living and working on boon wurrung / bunurong country in Victoria. Lauren creates immersive landscape paintings and drawings on paper, specialising in large-scale watercolours inspired by her memories and experiences of the Australian landscape.

Born in Melbourne, Lauren grew up on a small horse property near the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Life close to the bush and land has left a lasting impression and is a continued subject in her work.

In 2014, Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Design and has since been practicing as a self-taught artist. She has been a finalist in national prize shows, exhibited extensively in group shows, participated in artist residencies in Australia, Finland, and Iceland, and has artworks held in private and public collections. Lauren has exhibited four solo shows, including River Rainforest at Brunswick Street Gallery in 2023 and Among the Trees at Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery in 2021. She also curated a group show, Under the Sun, in 2021 at Cook Street Collective.
